One of a kind Pot Melts, wire melts, Rakings and Sandcastings make unique pieces of art. The wire melts are created by placing clear and coloured fusing glass onto some wire stretched over fire bricks in the kiln. The kiln is slowly heated to 1760 degrees and the glass melts down through the squares like soft honey. For the 12″ circles we use about 1250 grams of glass. The process for making the pot melts uses a clay flower pot with just the one hole to melt through giving a very different pattern. It’s always fun to open the kiln to see the one of a kind piece.
